I used Four Play to make Annie Modesitt’s corset pattern. It worked fine, but it does grow when you wash it, so I’d be sure to wash and block your swatch. I need to shrink my corset back up a bit after washing and then I overblocked the thing.
I love it! I think the Four Play might be a little more drapey than what was used for the pictured sweater, but I don’t see that as a bad thing. ; ) Go for it!!!
Argh! I hate to be the one to toss a damp blanket on this one, but I would be a little worried with the silk content (which may or may not hold its shape very well) and the *yoke* of the sweater being knit horizontally. Will it stretch too much over time? Something to think about. You could swatch, block, then clothespin your swatch to a hanger with a little bit of weight on the bottom (not a lot-some clothespins or pin something to it) and see how it wears over a week or so. You know, side to side on the swatch. Anywho. Sorry to be a voice of reason, but I’d hate for you to love the sweater to start and after time have it grow and grow.
It’s a drapey pattern, right? I think it will be fine. If you’re worried, knit it on a smaller needle – won’t that make a less drapey fabric?
Nope.
No, no, NO! I bought some of that, too, and I think it would be fantastic with that pattern.
I think it will look great! Pretty pattern by the way!
No, it will be perfect for it.
