It’s Ann Shayne Day ……

Did I mention that Ann Shayne is my hero? that she is a super genius? that I ♥ her?

Imagine my glee as I watched my missing first episode of The Office last night – not to mention the ability to rewind and watch the especially funny parts over and over again. Here is a very technical rundown of how it all works …..

  • through iTunes, I went to the music store.
  • from there I went to tv programs and selected the episode of The Office that I wanted.
  • I gave them credit card info (it is only $2/show) and then was able to download the episode I wanted to watch. (I did have to upgrade iTunes, but that is a free upgrade)
  • then I was able to watch the program on my computer screen.
  • yay for both Anns!

there is only one fly in the ointment. I am now wondering what other snazzy tricks I don’t know about. What else do you guys know that I don’t? c’mon, fork it over.

I am almost past the boring part of Icarus. It is knit from the top down and is basically stockinette stitch until it gets to the bottom lacy part. We are nearing the lacy part! I’d take a picture, but it looks the same, just bigger.

Instead, here’s a picture of Lucy the Pug for you to enjoy!

Lucy says, “Unlike stockinette stitch pictures,
pug pictures are never boring.”
Lucy is so smart.

  1. I’ve been put off by Icarus just because of that long stockinette part. But I love the way the finished shawl looks so I will probably still knit it at some point.

  2. Even better, you can download the entire season of a show from iTunes, and when the new episode airs, it will automatically load to your computer the next time you sign on to iTunes. It’s cheaper to buy in bulk. ;)

    LOVE The Office–both versions.

  3. ITunes rocks :)
When we moved to the boondocks last winter, and were left without any tv signal at all (and unwilling to get a satellite dish) we relied on ITunes to keep up with our favorite shows (mostly LOST)

I love The Office as well. Scranton is practically my hometown, so I’ve always loved the little mentions of the area in the dialogue.

  4. ann- I know you know about this already- but you don’t know how great it is,…. the dvr ( or tivo)
I don’t even like tv very much… but this is as necessary as a remote control.no wait as necessary as a screen. there you go. go buy one today.

  5. DAMN YOU MEAN I MISSED ANN SHAYNE DAY???? Where have I been?

Listen, as a fellow sufferer who missed episode one, I understand exactly how delightful it is to discover that ALL IS NOT LOST, and Pam and Jim are right there inside my very own computer.
