D#1 will be 20 in August. When she turned two, we had just moved into our first house. We had a backyard birthday party and invited all the kids in the neighborhood. I decided to hire a ‘character’ to come and entertain the kids. I looked in our local Pennysaver and called a guy who did Big Bird. D#1 loved Sesame Street and I hired him sight unseen.

Than unseen part can be a bit tricky.

He looked like a giant chicken that had been dragged behind the car for a mile or two. Some of the kids eyed him suspicously, others just screamed in terror.
