Although it is D#2 in the pictures, this project was knit for my goddaughter Claire who is having a birthday this week. It is all boxed up and ready to go to the post office! Happy Birthday Claire!

This was a fun and quick project to knit. Which is a good thing for me because now the model wants one too. And possibly D#1 who was nearby during the little photo session and made appreciative comments.

Today is shaping up to be busy busy. First off, Cara & Meli are possibly coming out to visit!! And I know she’s on the breast etc. but I feel like I should go grocery shopping. I mean, Cara has to eat, right?

Secondly, I definitely have to clean. Vacuum at the very least.

Thirdly, Gardener’s Supply has just delivered the asparagus crowns I ordered. I am feeling somewhat garden-y this year and decided to take the plunge and do some double digging ( I suppose I should figure out what the hell that means) It is a glorious day in a week full of rain and I will be working tomorrow. I really need to get those in the ground – today. Which means this morning!

I know this picture is a bit blurry, but without the flash the color of the yarn comes through. I have been wanting to knit this project ever since my friend Flair knit one up. The construction is interesting – knit from each sleeve toward the center line and then kitchenered up the back! I have also been attempting to knit from my stash and I have lots of Cotton Ease, so there could be a few more of these in my knitting future. When in between big projects, my grandmother often knit up a baby something-or-other to have on hand for gift giving and I think that is a good idea. It is also a great way to knit from the stash!

You may notice in the button close up that I put in five button holes, but I am only using three — I need to sew up the other two. The puppy buttons were perfect, but five was overkill.

Did you all have a nice Mother’s Day? Mr. Boar and I went plant/yard shopping and bought ourselves a new gardening toy. A gas powered edging tool that will take attachments! So we bought ourselves the rototilling attachment and also the weed whacking attachment. OMG I am in love with that rototiller! That thing has made mincemeat of some back-breaking labor — I got all of my veggie beds turned over and also extended a garden that has been on my mind. Yay for power equipment for Mother’s Day! (I also got a plant and some chocolates from the Ds).

My plan was to not post pictures until both of these projects were totally finished. For some reason, I was feeling a photographic ennui. It has become clear however that in order to keep Ye Olde Blogge rolling along, I need some project photos!

The sweater is a Saranac for Mr. Boar. It is completely finished (woven ends and everything!) except for sewing in the zipper. Now that spring time has come to Long Island, my motivation for finishing this has waned — I will get that zipper in by fall though. I swear! Actually, the zipper is one of the reasons I chose this project. I had some stash yarn that I wanted to get off my conscience, I also wanted an easy project but one that would add something to my knitting repertoire and since I have never sewn in a zipper, Saranac was perfect!

The socks are the Hedera sock pattern. I changed it up a bit by using a picot edge, which was another first for me. These socks were the perfect take along project for my many road trips last week. I am using Fearless Fingers yarn. Rachel sent it to me a while ago and I am loving it!
