I have been knitting a pair of socks while I ponder my next lace project. This pattern, Dimple Socks is designed by Kristi at Knitting Fool. I love her patterns – they come complete with sock bands for the finished product. That is assuming you don’t fall in love with them and keep them for yourself! : )

that’s the sound of me snoring……

It’s a gray, windy, rainy day here and after D#2 got off to school, I went back to bed. Just to watch the morning news and weather report. The next thing I know, it’s 10:30.

good grief – I can’t remember the last time I slept in like that. It has completely frigged up my schedule, which means less time for blogging. That’s okay – not much to say anyway. Because of it’s size, my Kiri shawl has stopped looking like a crotch and is now looking a bit … Hassidic. By the way, did you read Julie’s comment in that post? She told me to google the word merkin. Who knew blogging could be so educational?!

And another thing — a few of you have posted high school pictures. Do you know that that frickin meme drove me deep into my photo albums – every single one of them. Which of course was a little weepy seeing how cute my girls were. Still are. but you know what I mean.

So there was some soft sobbing.

All trying to find a certain picture of me in my band uniform spinning a rifle …… haven’t turned it up and now it’s driving me crazy. I just saw it when I painted my room (that’s where I keep the photo albums) and I remember tucking it away. But where??!!

A funny thing happened last night and when I called Cara to tell her about it she said I should totally blog it. She said, “if you don’t blog about it, you’ll be such a p*ssy” (can you believe the mouth on that girl?)

And now Kay has agreed with her.

So here goes …..

Last night I was at a friend’s house and I was working on Kiri. (take a moment to look at the picture in yesterday’s entry). I told her about my post yesterday and how I thought it looked like something clogging the bathroom drain. But I’m hoping it will block out.

My friend does not hold much hope for the blocking process but agrees that it looks exactly like pubic hair. Furthermore now that she has gone through menopause, a little ‘bush toupee’ wouldn’t be a bad thing. That after The Change, things had gotten a bit sparse and gray. ahem

She puts on her best Australian accent and says I could start a business with these things – knit them and market them to middle aged women with the name ‘Outback Bush Wigs’.

at which point I suggested ‘Down Under Rugs’

and then we peed our pants.
