A pork report apology ……. yesterday’s picture was taken with a dying camera battery that would not allow a retake. I would like to tell you that once it is charged I will post another shot, but we all know that’s a 50/50 proposition. Today’s pitcure was taken a week or so ago.

Darlings, the exciting news (besides the gender identifications of my vehicles) is a Robin Russo workshop! I will be delving into the exciting and mysterious world of goat fibers today! My spinning guild – have I mentioned how fabulous it is and how everyone should join?- is hosting a fun filled workshop weekend. Unfortunately I am only able to participate in today’s topic on goat fibers. A friend of D#2 wondered if there was that much to know about goat fibers …… ha! foolish, callow youth.

We had a great guild meeting last night. There were at least 35 people there! The night’s program was learning how to spin silk caps. These were the same caps we dyed at last month’s meeting. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera.

There were many, many moments that should have been captured on film. For instance, Cara trying to French kiss her woolee winder would have been a wonderful Kodak moment. She put the moves on it while it was spinning around. Kinda like kissing a fan. Can you tell that she got into the groove with her WW? she just needed a little practice with it – had to stick with it long enough to push through the learning curve.

Much like me and Navajo plying. what a fiasco that was/is. I cannot say too much about it since it is a surprise project for someone else. I just hope I am able to do something with what I’ve got. I really should have practiced on some scrap fiber first. ergh.

I am going to keep this short and sweet since The Office will be on soon ……

guess who’s coming over! We are going to the Spinning Guild meeting tonight – going to learn how to spin silk caps! It will be nice to get reacquainted with my wheel – it has been forever.

and now a small knitting update – I am approaching the armhole shapings.

wasn’t that exciting?

And now for your pig of the day. These were a gift from Vicki and have been named after her and her DH!

what do you suppose they’re singing?

How about some pictures from the Pam Topham tapestry workshop? As always, I adore hanging out with the women from my Spinning Guild. I sometimes wonder if it’s the fiber I find so compelling or the people I meet.

Like most things, what I learned about tapestry weaving is that it’s much more complicated than it appears; planning on how colors meet, figuring out whether the shed is open or closed and what to do if the sheds don’t align not to mention the artistry to make a design! And now, for my own woven result. Please remember everything I just told you about how increibly complicated it all is – this little piece measures roughly 3″ and took me 12 hours!
