Day Two & I Have Access!
As you can see, I have scored Internet access for the second day in a row! Is it my good looks and charm? ~one would like to think so, yet one would have to admit that it was just sort of there when one fired up one’s laptop~
Daughter #2 rode today. She rode in a jumper class. There were approximately 40 riders and she won an eighth place ribbon! This is wonderful news! The Garden State Horse Show is rated at the same level as the Hampton Classic, so the level of competition is higher. Daughter #2, while being an excellent rider has occasionally let her nerves get the best of her. This is an altogether excellent result and daughter #2 is thrilled!
What color is an eighth place ribbon? a wonderful brown.
Why no pictures? because I left the show ‘early’ at 5 pm. I am back at the hotel room, sipping some wine and the daughters have the camera.
What else did I leave at the showgrounds? Halcyon directions.
argh!!!
not to worry darlings, the directions will be brought to the hotel along with the daughters.
At that point, having nothing to do in this room besides sip wine, I will be so inebriated I should stay far away from the knitting …..
fear not – I am nothing if not sensible.
giddy up
I am posting this entry from a Wyndham hotel room. I thought they had free high speed Internet access. This is a five day trip and I am counting on this access to help maintain my sanity. I was told by the young man at the front desk that the free access is for their club members. I am not a club member. Luckily the young man was a kind soul and granted me my evening dose of Internet.
This is the beginning of the trip. I am at my most fresh and charming. It is all downhill from here.
I do not know if I can pull this trick off again.
What am I doing? Why am I away?
The daughters are riding in a horse show. I have a wake up call for 5:15 tomorrow morning. I will spend the whole of these five days getting up at ungodly hours and spending all day and part of the evening at a barn and ringside.
Of course I brought my knitting — I am hoping for great Halcyon progress pictures.
If you don’t hear from me again it is because the front desk to offense to either my demeanor or my odor ….
At first glance, the package from Vicki looked a bit …. disappointing. I don’t care how ‘krispy’ nor how ‘krunchy’ it is – cod is cod. Would she really send me seafood? I know we are embracing a healthier lifestyle, but fish? Is Vicki nuts? I mean, what do I really know about this woman? Maybe it is some kind of Spearfish joke?
not to worry, our Vicki remains gifter extraordinaire! She assures me that the Milky Way popables were quality tested ….
As if to prove that she has lost nothing of her sense of humor, Vicki sent along a little something that Kathleen and I can enjoy together!
and finally, saving the best for last …..
did she know I was the only knit blogger left without a copy? did she see my shameless begging at Cara’s site? (see the April 29th entry and comments further notice that I was not the winner)
Thanks Vicki!! You’re the best quitting buddy a girl could ask for! :)
I ::heart:: you!
