Give the people what they want! And since a few of you have expressed an interest in those shelves and I don’t have any knitting pictures, here is a closer look at one of the many splendid things about Boar ……

The wooden shelves are pine boards that we stained and they lay across the pipe. Taking these pictures, I just noticed that Boar also cut a piece of plastic tubing that sits around the pipe under the wood shelves, but I can’t see that the boards actually touch this piece and it may be unnecessary.

Mr. Boar made these years ago. At the time I believe we spent around $50 for the pipe and other pieces. If you need anymore shelving info, let me know and if you make a set for yourself, send me a pic! Boar was slightly thrilled that there seemed to be lots of women out there appreciating his handiwork. bitches.

We have reached the end of the bedroom pigs. I was not planning on taking pictures of any of the stuffed pigs I have – but since it is Friday and I would like to end this week in the bedroom, I shall show you some of the softer side of my collection …..

A little pig liquid soap! My SiL put in him in my Christmas stocking one year and I don’t have the heart to use him. He now sits on the shelves in the master bathroom. Speaking of the shelves, this is the perfect opportunity to show off some of Boar’s handiwork. Boar is beyond handy – he has moved walls, raised ceilings, installed skylights, replaced windows …… but he also made some really cool shelves for our bathroom!

I realize this is a shitty picture, but I hope you can see that they are copper pipe with faucets at the end. There is a bath shop in Cape May NJ called Mariah’s. Their display shelves are made this way. One year I pointed them out to Boar and he said, “no problem”! A trip to Home Depot, a little soldering and voilá!

yes, I know how lucky I am to have Boar.

no, you can’t borrow him.

There has been some exciting knitting news. I am well into the raglan decreases and decided to take it off the needles to check the fit and see if I was going to like it. Truth be told, I may have been looking for an escape route. But it seems as though I won’t need one – the fit looks great and I think I am even going to like wearing it! If these favorable signs continue and I do indeed end up with a sweater that fits and that I like, it will be an all time first around here. I wonder if this is another sign of the doom of global warming? That Ann has finally found a perfect sweater pattern and now she won’t need to wear one?! oh, how the gods will laugh.

it’s Margene’s Birthday!!

linkage: I should have realized that are other collectors out there. For all of you pug lovers, or little tubby, baby animal knick-knack lovers here is the website for yesterday’s pig. Those three were a gift from the girls for a long ago Mother’s Day. I am positive they were purchased in a nearby gift shop. I actually have a number of things like that since that gift shop was in biking distance!

and now some knitting linkage ….. I had heard on Cast-On that there was a movement to organize a Barbara Walker website, one where volunteers would knit samples of the patterns. Sure enough those Mason Dixon ladies found it — The Walker Treasury Project! Inspiration abounds. If any of the knitting techniques for those patterns cause confusion, perhaps you will find an explanation at TECHknitting. Be sure to check it out – fabulous illustrations and clear directions. Hopefully she will have a book contract soon and our libraries will be the better for it.

thus endeth the linkage ……

the Daily Pork Report continues from my bedroom ; ) and further continues from the windowsill And yes Margene, I do a lot of dusting! or more truthfully, I need to do a lot of dusting …… Speaking of Margene, stop everything and go wish her a Happy Birthday!!!
