The trip to San Diego was fantastic. We had a great time – the city is beautiful and the weather was perfection. I plan on sharing pictures and stories throughout the week. For now though, I have to go to work!

how about a little suspense …. I have a Rhinebeck project on the needles…..

There will be no blogging this week – I will be in San Diego! Mr. Boar has a business trip and the spouses have been invited too. Last year we went to Las Vegas and I bitched and moaned in the weeks leading up to the trip. Historically, I have been a very cranky traveler. I am beginning to suspect that it has less to do with the going and more to do with the leaving! This year D#2 is 16 years old, and is a mature and responsible person. My mother in law will also be here to keep an eye on things and drive her around. But I feel much more confident in her ability to take care of herself and her schedule and also the dogs. Let’s not forget the four legged creatures! At this time last year we had five dogs, two of whom were very ill. That is a lot to leave behind and a lot to ask someone else to watch – this year we have three and they are all in good health (except for Lucy’s itchy spot, which is on its way to healing)

So anyway, I am actually looking forward to this trip! Now I have to decide on a knitting project(s). Did you guys catch the new Knitty? specifically the article on double knitting and socks? Maybe it’s time to try something new ….. see you guys next week!

yawn.

There is little of interest to blog about here at Chez Swine. Washcloth production continues. Did you read the comments in my last post? Ginger gave me a great link to an in depth comparison of the different cotton yarns. I bought loads of Sugar & Cream at Michaels’ the other day and can see that I will be making a trek to Walmart sometime soon for some Peaches & Creme. Yes, the evil Walmart. I want to try P&C, the color selection is huge and I don’t care how unpolitically correct Walmart is. And if you must know, I will also buy some Tide if it is on sale. And toilet paper.

While life has been boring and rainy weather has halted staining of the Adirondack chairs, I have managed to get through some of my Netflix movies ….. Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion, The Dying Gaul, Friends With Money, The Libertine and The Man Who Cried. Now that I made a list I see that I have been watching lots of movies! The first two were by far the best, but all are worth renting.

am I squandering my talent?

I have a question for all you dishcloth aficionados out there – and you know who you are. What is the difference between Sugar & Cream and Peaches & Cream? I only just noticed that the Mason Dixon pattern calls for Peaches & Cream. As we already established, I am a wicked bad skimmer. When I saw the label reading & Cream, I just assumed I had the right yarn. I also wanted pie. A big piece of pie.

I am still in the thick of spinning all that roving. Vows were recently made regarding my lack of roving organization. I told Cara that from now on I was going to write a note to keep in the roving bags with all pertinent info – what it is/where I bought it etc. – so that when I blog about being in the thick of all that roving, I can be a bit more specific. Being the genius that she is, Cara pointed out that I could accomplish the same thing by simply keeping the receipt in the bag. Brilliant, the girl is brilliant!

In other news, it looks like I will be working on Mondays. A new yarn shop, Knitting on the Lamb, has recently relocated to my town. I went there yesterday for what I thought would be a getting to know you session and ended up working the whole day! I am also still teaching at Pathways Women’s Health on Friday afternoons. Kathleen and I are trying to convince Granny to hold some classes too! my takeover is almost complete! ; )
