I like to think of what I do as a combination of definitions c & d —- a removing of the cream, the best of what is being said ……. and so if I occasionally miss your little bon mot about how cute Georgie is when he wrinkles his nose that certain way, or about how you caught a drop of Springsteen’s sweat on your tongue at that concert you went to and didn’t brush for a year afterward, it’s to be expected. I think what really bothers Cara is not my skimming so much as my Alzheimer’s. Yeah, I read it, I just didn’t retain it. The only thing I retain these days is water. Now which one of you biatches is going to make me a button – a Skimmer/Retention Challenged button??

and won’t you all be sorry soon ……. take a look at this

see that?! No I did not make it, but last night at Guild I signed up to take spinning lessons from the woman who did! (she is selling her stuff at The Point and Now and Zen) Now that I have signed up to learn at the feet of a master, it shouldn’t be too long before I am churning out some high quality stuff. And when I get this good and become a world famous spinner I will forget your names.

not that I ever really knew them in the first place. ;)

High winds and pouring rain. blah!

My spinning guild is having our Roc Party or St. Distaff’s party tonight. As is the custom, rather than bringing a grab bag gift, we will be exchanging 2 ounces of our own handspun. I need to wind some off and wrap up.

Not much else is going on —- it is a stormy, gray day and all the dogs & cats are laying about. So am I. I need to get my arse in gear and do something!

does this answer your question ……

Boar!

and did you notice my favorite B is doing two of my favorite things? bossing the snowblower around while wearing his handspun berretta! Gotta love those weekend snowstorms where I am not the one out there behind that behemoth.

For the record, I was inside whipping up pancakes. We had an ice/snow/wind storm come through here on Saturday night – the roads were in awful shape yesterday (haven’t been out yet today to see if there has been improvement) and we had a tree come down, in addition to branches etc.

Now to the knitting news….. the Jaywalkers are officially on hold now while I wait for the arrival of some Koigu to finish them. I have cast on for the Chinese Sweater using the Brooks Farm Four Play that I picked up in Rhinebeck. I will ignore the calligraphy design and just knit it up as a wide ribbed tunic with the neckline detail. The sweater from Poor Miss Finch that I originally planned was possibly/probably not a good match for this particular yarn blend, so that will have to wait.
