Everyone who knows me, knows what a homebody I am (it goes hand in hand with that whole not-a-wild-thing of yesterday). Snug as a bug in a rug is my motto and would be featured prominently on my family crest if I had one. I do not enjoy extensive travel – my favorite part of [...]

I think this blog is turning me into a big boring goody two shoes. I will admit that I teetered precariously near this status before the blog, but now it’s official. First I quit smoking. Now I am eating healthy, which for me means no drinking either. What next? no cursing? no nights of debauchery?? [...]

I am having my very first blog contest to celebrate a 10 pound weight loss! although at the moment I am officially down 9.6 pounds, I am fairly confident that by next week the other .4 will be off. What will the fabulous prizes be? hmmmm, I don’t know. I really haven’t thought this through. [...]

Here are some pictures of the Diagonal Rib Socks I was working on during our weekend of driving. I am using StR in Petroglyphs. I like this pattern and I very much like how stretchy the rib stitch is. I am not sure I like how the colors are pooling, but everyone who sees them [...]

Just waiting for D#2 to come home from school and then we shall hit the road. First stop is in Brooklyn to pick up the Boar and then westward ho! The car knitting is all set – another sock is being born. I am using StR in Petroglyphs to make an online Interweave pattern called [...]

Last night’s spinning guild meeting was fairly exciting and so I did not quite complete the socks. This pattern widened my sock knitting repertoire to include a French Heel and a Rounded Toe. I surprised myself by liking them both – especially the rounded toe. I love the way the two sided decrease toe looks [...]

I have been given the ole Hong Kong Phooey over at Cara’s. She says I am the Hoover Dam of creativity and that she can eat Spaghetti O’s if she wants to. (and it looks like Vicki thinks they’re pretty tasty too). I will admit to the whole creativity damper thing and agree that Cara [...]

So, I was going to tell you about how I was out in the yard, putting down compost and top soil and doing some seeding. And how Poe kept getting underfoot and was jumping up at the seed as I was tossing it about. And how he ended up covered in grass seed and has [...]
