wild thing, you make my heart sing

I think this blog is turning me into a big boring goody two shoes. I will admit that I teetered precariously near this status before the blog, but now it’s official.

First I quit smoking. Now I am eating healthy, which for me means no drinking either. What next? no cursing? no nights of debauchery?? no wild sex with strangers????

f- that sh-t man.

ha! for me the wild life would be not caring about the ring in my bathtub, the weeds in the garden. I am a big yawn it’s true.

and soon I will be a stylin slim yawn! What a great response I have had to the contest with mystery prizes! And if you are reading this for the first time, where the hell were you yesterday? huh? To save you the agony of scrolling to yesterday’s entry, here are the details: Send me an email (purlingswine (at) yahoo (dot) com) by 5:00 p.m. EST on May 2nd with your name/email/blog (if applicable) and the words “weigh to go” in the subject line. easy peesy!

I have consulted some one great mind and she has said that the prize should be ……. are you ready for pure genius at work?

Yarn.

where does she come up with this stuff? that girl is brilliant.

So yarn it is! And since this is in honor of my Journey of 100 Steps, I will be putting some Trekking XXL in the prize basket along with a few other delights! : ) I didn’t even notice the irony of the XXL until I just typed it. tee-hee.

word play …. just another part of my wild streak.

ABC Along …. G!

I think I am behind on this “along”. I was thinking all last week about what could be my G and couldn’t come up with anything. Our weekend trip provided some good G …..

on the way home we stopped in the Corning Glass Museum. This is a stop I love to make – the shop is great and I usually find a Christmas present or two ….. and yes, I have already started my shopping!

The thing is, glass is really hard to get a picture of, especially when it’s hanging in your kitchen window ……..

I just remembered, I found this at Rooster Hill Winery

I also go some new kitchen glasses. I really like their size – not gigantic, but not teeny either. If I were to serve a bunch of knitters some iced tea, do you think they would fight over which glass they got?

Now ladies, put down those can openers!

I have been given the ole Hong Kong Phooey over at Cara’s. She says I am the Hoover Dam of creativity and that she can eat Spaghetti O’s if she wants to. (and it looks like Vicki thinks they’re pretty tasty too). I will admit to the whole creativity damper thing and agree that Cara can and should knit whatever she wants to. But I will NOT GIVE ONE INCH on the Spaghetti O’s debate. Once you are on that culinary road to Perdition, you should just crack open a can of Spam and get it over with. yeah, I said it.

In further food talk my peeps, I have some sad news for you all. There is 6½ pounds less of me to love! Last night was my first week WW weigh in. The first week is always so motivating – all that water weight gone. I am planning on posting my weekly progress or lack thereof, in an effort to keep this ball a rollin’, this swine a losin’. It worked with the quit smoking and hopefully will have the same result with the chub.

Can you tell I have no knitting news to share? I should be finished with the second Oak Ribbed Sock today and have some pictures for tomorrow. And tonight is my spinning guild meeting – tomorrow should be chock full o fiber!

remember to masticate!

So, I was going to tell you about how I was out in the yard, putting down compost and top soil and doing some seeding. And how Poe kept getting underfoot and was jumping up at the seed as I was tossing it about. And how he ended up covered in grass seed and has a future as a Chia Pet. And it was kind of funny.

But then Cara called. And she and I were chatting, comparing head colds and I said how I don’t really have anything to blog about. And she said, “So dude, don’t blog”. And then we chatted some more about other stuff and then she said, “Dude, I gotta go and eat my Spaghetti O’s”.
