here at Chez Swine, it’s all about the love

P9280007

Look at the adorable magnet from my spinning friend Delia! so cute! please refrain from any comparisons – you know yellow isn’t my color! I love it Delia! ;)

I am working furiously on Icarus – progress is evident! I am in love with this yarn – can’t wait to wrap myself in it. I was speaking with Boar last night and telling him about welding wires and blocking lace. He says that Home Depot carries welding wires and so this weekend on what seems to be our weekly trek, we shall add those to the shopping list.

Continuing my social director theme from yesterday ……

  • tonight on NBC is The Office. I love this show. It is right up there with Arrested Development. I was completely devastated to have missed the season premier last week when I was away in San Diego. Believe you me, I really tried to see it but we had a compulsory dinner to attend (it was a business trip afterall). And no, I don’t have Tivo. Or Io. I really don’t even understand what they do or mean. D#2 is also a fan, so she filled me in and that will have to do until I catch a rerun.
  • mark your calendar, this Sunday (10/1) is Greenlawn’s Annual Pickle Festival! Here are the details:
  • Pickle Festival
    Homemade pickles, jams, jellies,
farm grown veggies, bake goods, family fun
    11am-4pm
    John Gardiner Farm

    Greenlawn, NY
    631-754-1180

I love pickles! I will have to be very careful not to get pickle juice all over Icarus.

yawn.

There is little of interest to blog about here at Chez Swine. Washcloth production continues. Did you read the comments in my last post? Ginger gave me a great link to an in depth comparison of the different cotton yarns. I bought loads of Sugar & Cream at Michaels’ the other day and can see that I will be making a trek to Walmart sometime soon for some Peaches & Creme. Yes, the evil Walmart. I want to try P&C, the color selection is huge and I don’t care how unpolitically correct Walmart is. And if you must know, I will also buy some Tide if it is on sale. And toilet paper.

While life has been boring and rainy weather has halted staining of the Adirondack chairs, I have managed to get through some of my Netflix movies ….. Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion, The Dying Gaul, Friends With Money, The Libertine and The Man Who Cried. Now that I made a list I see that I have been watching lots of movies! The first two were by far the best, but all are worth renting.

so who’s the banana head now?

that friend I mentioned earlier? well here’s what happened during a long and somewhat confusing conversation about the new HBO series Big Love, the show about polygamy.

I say something or other about the Bill Paxton character ….

she says, “what do you mean, the Bill Paxton character?”

I say, “I can’t think of his name, but the husband, the guy Bill Paxton plays”

she says, “Do you mean it’s not a reality series???!!”
