infusion

I was out to dinner last weekend and spied a jar much like this one behind the bar. Pineapple infused vodka served icy cold – delicious!!

This has been soaking/infusing since Sunday. I did a little taste test last night and I do believe it’s ready to go! Wikipedia recommends replacing the fruit since it continues to ripen, so pineapple is on today’s grocery list.

here’s a little recipe recap:

  • step 1: infuse the vodka
  • step 2: infuse yourself

Project details:

SYES shawl
Noro Silk Garden Sock Yarn

As I was knitting this project, I decided to keep doing pattern repeats and work until the yarn ran out.  Right there is exactly how much yarn was left at the end of the bind off.

It was a close one – a definite thrill ride and lesson in exciting knitting. Let’s hope it’s not also a lesson in how unwise it is to only leave a quarter inch tail of yarn to weave in!

Mr. Boar and the girls gave me a set of blocking wires for Christmas and this was the first time I used them. What a great finishing tool these are!

bad girl, talkin’ bout bad girls

Here is a little reminder that D#2 is not the only knitter around Chez Swine. The Gauntlets of Regret! Very cool and sort of naughty. I whipped up two pairs of these, all from one skein of Cascade 220 Superwash. One pair for each of the daughters. Who also happen to be very cool and sort of naughty.

My only regret about this project? That I didn’t think to take a picture until no one was home and I had to do it one-handed!
